Four rings this morning

Went to one of our central parks this early this morning before the sunday crowds arrived, managed $19 in goldies plus the ever present 2c bits and a few pennies dating back to 1910,plus a 1926 aussie halfpenny, and would you believe 4 rings in total the black one is a junker, the other three are all silver there is no mistaking the signal from a silver target on the Etrac sings out loud and clear.

Low tide tomorrow at around 4pm just on knockoff time if the sea is still flat I will give the salt water a go,as the crowds are starting to build up again....HH jim

  1. Oh yes the etrac loves silver.. three silver rings in one go is pretty amazing, the whole range to.. big and little... even the little tiny ones with low numbers still give such a clean signal.. I love finding silver.

  2. Great going on the silver Jim. And the goldies too.

When I find silver but somehow I don't hear this silver sound other ET owners talk about. Really frustrating. Usually I get a surprise when silver pops up. :-)

  4. The silver sound... I spose its best described as "clean".. it seems the better quality of the target the cleaner / sweeter the sound.. its like the difference between a goldie and a bottle top of the same numbers... the coins give a cleaner tone .. same tone and numbers , but cleaner. When I started with the etrac I didn't / couldn't hear the difference , now its obvious somehow.. you sort of just "know"

  5. I should probably qualify the above a bit... the sound differences only happen (well) under perfect conditions... if for instance there is other metal around it can put it off.. or lessen / change it...which is why sometimes your goldie signals are not exactly right but are still goldies..( you may have had the odd surprise)

  6. I do believe the good sounds get in to your sub conscious over time. Quite often now the first little ding will grab my attention and although the numbers may not settle out quite as expected I still feel the need to dig and often with good result. Hopefully I will come to recognize this clean silver sound before too long to cos I like finding silver eh.

  7. Hmmmmm I think a better definition would be "crisp" Either way there is no mistaking that distinct positive signal,I think the only other target that fools me is a drink can buried at 10".
